Frequently Asked Questions
The National Consumer Alliance is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life of its members by providing educational information, and access to discounts on goods, services and benefits utilizing the collective purchasing power of all members. And because our members demand high quality, we provide access to many of the top companies and the best brands in the country.
How Do I join the National Consumer Alliance (NCA)?
You can gain access to ALL the discount benefits of membership in NCA for only $9.95 a year. One of the wonderful features is that membership includes your entire household … even children living at college! Our plans provide you with discounted prices on a wide range of goods, services and benefits including prescription drugs, medical services, dental services, complementary health care services, eye glasses, contacts, LASIK surgery, hearing aids, vitamins and supplements and more. You can become a member right now by clicking HERE.
Can I become an NCA member through my employer, civic group, social organization, congregation or through other organizations?
Yes! NCA actively solicits and enrolls companies, associations and affinity groups who then offer their employees/members membership in the National Consumer Alliance for little or no cost. If you are interested in learning more about group membership, click HERE.
Do I have to become a member of the National Consumer Alliance to qualify for the NCA Discount Prescription Drug Card?
No. We offer the NCA Discount Prescription Drug Card for FREE to members as well as non-members. Why? We are a non-profit organization whose corporate mission is to enhance the quality of life of our members. However we decided to extend this particular offering to the public at large because we feel the high cost of prescription drugs poses serious challenges to too many American families (there was a five-fold increase in spending in the United States for prescription drugs from 1990 to 2005 – rising from $40.3 billion to $200.7 billion over the 15 year span). So, as a concerned corporate citizen we want to help ALL those in need (not just our members).
Are any of the NCA offerings insurance plans?
No, none of our offerings are insurance products. We provided discount programs that give you access to affordable prescription drugs, as well as pre-negotiated discounts on medical services, dental services, complementary health services and many more products and services.
I heard that NCA negotiated special membership fee discounts with the premier marketer of medical, dental, and health discount plans in the country – Careington International. Are those lower fees available to me through my NCA membership?
Yes! The National Consumer Alliance has formed a relationship with Careington International where Careington has not only waived its one-time $20 processing fee for NCA members, but Careington is also providing exclusive plan discount packages and annual membership rates not available anywhere else. And the plans are easy to use: there are no limits on use, everyone is accepted, there are no administrative forms to file, and membership includes family members. NCA is offering three (3) discount plans from Careington: Medical, Dental and Wellness. Click HERE for more information.
